Stephen A. Lin, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist who first joined Central Valley Eye in 1996. Dr. Lin was raised in Manteca where his father was one of the first specialist physicians serving the community for over 30 years. After graduating as Manteca High’s valedictorian, Dr. Lin attended Wheaton College in Illinois receiving Summa Cum Laude honors. He then chose to attend medical school at University of California, San Diego receiving recognition for outstanding research before subsequently receiving his ophthalmology training at Stanford University where he also completed a fellowship in glaucoma. He currently serves on the clinical faculty at Stanford Medical Center as an assistant professor, utilizing his experience and expertise in instructing young physicians in ophthalmic surgery. Dr. Lin is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Glaucoma Society, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, The American Medical Association and the San Joaquin Medical Society. His professional interests include small incision cataract surgery, glaucoma management and refractive surgery including LASIK and premium intraocular lens technology. Stevens Y. Kim, M.D. was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. He attended Stanford University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Medicine. He served as the Chief Resident in Ophthalmology where he was a Fellow in Vitreoretinal Diseases. Dr. Kim joined Central Valley Eye Medical Group in 1996. He specializes in modern suture-less cataract surgery and the treatment of retinal diseases, especially those affecting diabetics and the elderly. Most recently, Dr. Kim has broadened his practice to include premium lens technology and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids. He is proud to offer Juvederm and Botox for those wanting a more youthful appearance. Dr. Kim is available for routine eye care and surgical consultations in Stockton, Manteca and now in Modesto. He continues to serve on the clinical faculty at Stanford University, working at the VA hospital once a month. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Medical Association, California Medical Association and the San Joaquin Medical Society. Michael was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley near Los Angeles, California. In his free time, he enjoys exploring nature and traveling the world with his friends, family and goldendoodle. His interests run the gamut from photography and fitness to artificial intelligence. Michael speaks English, Mandarin, and basic Spanish. Training & Education Michael C Yang, M.D. is fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma specialist. He attended UC Irvine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with the Chancellor’s Award of Distinction and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Yang went on to complete his Medical Degree at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After medical school, Dr. Yang completed his medical internship at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he cared for an underserved population at the height of the COVID pandemic. After internship, Dr. Yang returned to UC Irvine to complete his ophthalmology residency where he was chosen to serve as the sole Chief Resident – focusing on improving surgical training and resident wellness. After this, Dr. Yang joined Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University where he was selected to be a Clinical Instructor and underwent specialized training in his Glaucoma Fellowship. Credentials & Specializations Dr. Yang is skilled in sutureless cataract surgery and helping patients select the ideal intraocular lenses – including: Monofocal (correcting hyperopia and myopia), Toric (correcting astigmatism), Extended depth of focus (EDOF), Multifocal (correcting presbyopia) and Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL, customizable lenses). Through his specialized Glaucoma Fellowship training, Dr. Yang is also experienced with multiple options of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and glaucoma lasers to treat glaucoma and possibly decrease the number of glaucoma eye drops needed. For more advanced glaucoma, Dr. Yang also has a breadth of surgical experience with implanting and managing glaucoma tube shunt devices and trabeculectomy surgeries. Michael is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Glaucoma Society (AGS). Research & Innovation Michael is always searching for new ways to improve patient care and expand the boundaries of medical knowledge. Before starting medical school, Michael worked in a neurobiology laboratory where he grew embryonic stems cells and transplanted these specialized cells into mouse brains to reverse cortical blindness and stroke damage. During his time at UCLA and UC Irvine, he authored chapters in surgical textbooks and published numerous papers about ophthalmology, glaucoma and neurobiology in renowned medical and science journals like Neuron, Orbit, and Ophthalmology Glaucoma. While at Stanford, he continued his research in glaucoma and presented novel surgical techniques at the American Glaucoma Society meeting.

Daniel Choi, M.D. is a fellowship trained glaucoma specialist. He was born and raised in California and attended UCLA where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in physiology. During his undergraduate work at UCLA he served as the president of the American Medical Student Association. He then obtained his medical degree at UCLA and finished his medical internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. After this, Dr. Choi went to Stanford University to complete his ophthalmology residency where he served as Chief Resident. He then returned back to UCLA as a clinical instructor and also completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Choi is the founder of two non-profit organizations: Project Nicaragua and Project RISHI. These medical organizations focus on providing improved healthcare to the underserved international community. He has also been on multiple medical mission trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Korea. Dr. Choi is also actively involved in ophthalmic research and has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and has presented his research at multiple national conferences. Currently, his research interest remains primarily in the area of glaucoma. Since joining the Central Valley Eye Medical Group, Dr. Choi has continued to pursue his passion for medical education by teaching both glaucoma and cataract surgery to Stanford ophthalmology residents. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Outside of work, Dr. Choi enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and exploring the outdoors.

Ethan Tittler, M.D. was raised in the small town of Trumansburg, New York, until the age of 13, when his family moved to Auckland, New Zealand. He returned to the U.S. after high school and received his bachelor’s degree from Pomona College, then attended medical school at the University of Southern California. He completed his 1-year internship at the University of Utah, and then his specialty training in ophthalmology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Tittler was then selected for further sub-specialty training in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at Stanford University, where his work focused on problems of the eyelids, eye sockets, tear production and drainage system, rare inflammatory conditions, cancers, and trauma. Dr. Tittler’s commitment to training in the management of problems both within and around the eye give him the expertise to provide the best possible care for all his patients. To this end, he has authored multiple articles, published in academic, peer-reviewed journals on a wide variety of subjects, and has also authored a book chapter. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In his leisure time, Dr. Tittler enjoys spending time with his friends and family, hiking, biking, skiing, surfing, and traveling.

Michael James Sakamoto, M.D was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan where his father worked for the U.S.A.F. He attended the University of Redlands where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. He went on to graduate school on an NIH fellowship to study Molecular Biology at Tufts University and Immunology at the University of Pennsylvania. Turning his attention to medicine took him to UCLA, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco and a residency and chief residency in Ophthalmology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. This was followed by a Shaffer fellowship in Glaucoma at UCSF. Specialization In 1991 Dr. Sakamoto moved to the Central Valley, where he practices Ophthalmology with a specialty in glaucoma in Sacramento and Modesto. About Dr. Sakamoto Dr. Sakamoto is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma society. He enjoys spending time with his family and counts foreign travel, swimming, cooking, and following his beloved Dodgers as hobbies.

Vikram Girn, O.D. is a Stockton native with a focus on family eye care. He is an alumni of Tyler Elementary, Hazelton Elementary, and Hamilton Middle School. He graduated from Franklin High School in 2005 where he completed the International Baccalaureate program. He is a proud Aggie alumni who graduated with honors from University of California, Davis, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Neurology, Physiology, and Behavior. He moved to sunny southern California where he earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. His training incorporated diverse disciplines of ocular disease, pediatrics, and acute anterior segment care. Dr. Girn is proud to have served our military service men and women at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan and our veterans at VA Southern Nevada in North Las Vegas, Nevada. During the eye health evaluation, he addresses all of the patients’ needs and prescribes his recommendations based on the latest exam findings. Dr. Girn focuses on educating his patients about exam findings and the treatment plan in a thorough and easy to understand manner. Dr. Girn along with his optical team will customize a lens package that will fit his patient’s lifestyle and needs. In 1979, Dr. Kenneth Miselis graduated from the University of Vermont Medical School. He continued his post-graduate training with an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. The internship allowed Dr. Miselis to practice a number of medical specialties before choosing to specialize in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Kenneth Miselis went on to the internationally-known George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he completed an extensive residency program in ophthalmology. After completing his residency and leaving George Washington University as chief resident, Dr. Miselis moved to California. Dr. Miselis was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1984. He has trained in refractive surgical techniques since the mid 1980’s under the personal tutelage of some of the leaders in the field – Drs. Richard Lindstrom, George Waring, Vance Thompson, Stephen Trokel and Leo Bores. He has been performing refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, etc.) for 35 years. He is active in a number of local professional organizations, served as a board member for the San Joaquin Medical Society and has been Chief-of-Staff for Dameron Hospital Association. As Medical Director and Surgeon for Heritage Eye, Skin & Laser Center, Dr. Miselis has been in private practice in Stockton since the early 1980’s. During that time, he has built Heritage Eye from a small ophthalmic practice to one of the largest full-service eye care facilities in California. Today, Heritage Eye, Skin & Laser Center serves the needs of thousands of residents. Dr. Miselis has been performing eye surgery for over 40 years. Kelsey Price, OD. attended and completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. She received her Optometry degree from Rosenburg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX. She completed her rotations through the Veterans Administration in Salem Virginia and at Boise Eye care in Idaho. Dr. Price went on to complete a residency at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta Georgia specializing in ocular Disease and co-management of surgical cases. About Dr. Price Dr. Price was born and raised in Lodi, CA. She is proud to be back in the central valley to provide eye care. Dr. Price loves to spend time with her family and in her spare time she loves traveling, snowboarding, and wake surfing.
